My poor kid is growing like a weed and now that it’s fall he’s out grown most of his pants. Just when we need them the most! I could buy some, and I tend to shop the clearance aisle a lot. It’s hard to spend money when he’s going to outgrow them in a matter of minutes and now that I’m back to work, getting to garage sales is more difficult. I will definitely have to make a run to GoodWill one of these days.
But I found instructions for making baby pants out of old tshirts and gave that a try. I have quite a few tshirts that were giveaways at work functions or conferences that have no sentimental value (someday I will finish/start my tshirt quilt). So in a matter of less than 10 minutes I was able to make a pair of pants. For little babies you don’t need to put elastic in the waist band but now that Daniel is getting bigger I might need to have some on hand to add to pants.
If I ever get the time I want to try and make some pants out of old sweatshirts and possibly old jeans.
